God want to use you

“Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: Acts 18:9”

Apostle Paul,in his ministry on Earth, came to a crossroads, where he had to decide whether or not to stop preaching the gospel because of fear. Jesus Christ appeared to him in a vision and allayed his fears; He asked Paul to speak boldly and not stop for any reason. Dear beloved, it is possible that you have also come to a crossroads where you want to stop doing what God has assigned to you. Take encouragement from the opening scripture, and do your assigned task boldly. Don’t stop for any reason and lose your reward. You might be thinking that there is no use for you because of your condition or your circumstances. I have good news for you: There is no useless person in…

Commit And Trust In The LORD

Pure Glory

by Hazel Straub

Before you do anything, commit yourself to the Lord and trust completely in Him. Then your thinking conforms  to God’s thinking. As a result, what you do will succeed.

Before you do anything,
put your trust totally in God and not in yourself.
Then every plan you make will succeed. (Proverbs 16:3 TPT)

Double Rainbow Meaning

Pure Glory

    by Hazel Straub

A double rainbow lit the darkened cloudy sky. God said, “Trust me through the storm, I have you. Don’t lean on your own understanding but lean into me, as the showers refresh. Embrace my wind, it blows the mosquitos away. Know my rainbow is a double one of covenant. They witness to my faithfulness. Trust me. I bring you through the storm. I am here for you.”

Put the Fire Out

BeautyBeyondBones

I have a confession: one that I’m really not proud of.

But tonight at church, and really for the last couple weeks, I honestly have just felt…nothing.

It’s like I’ve been spiritually numb.

But tonight was different. I was actually getting angry.

I was sitting in the pew, and just inexplicably fuming, being critical of every little thing: the priest seemed arrogant. The pace was too slow. I was literally shooting daggers with my eyes at the elderly woman leading the songs. (A capella, I might add.) Who is this monster I’ve allowed in my thoughts and heart?!

But I was just checked out. And the more I thought about it, the worse it got.

I’m going to be honest: growing up, I had a few episodes of… the silent treatment.

I’m not proud to admit that passive aggressive low blow, but I have been known to give my…

Be Strong and Courageous

Looking to God

With summer being over and fall slowly showing its colors, I have had a trying month. I realize God does things for a reason, therefore I am not bothered when trials happen. If I am to partake in Jesus’ glory, why should I not partake in his suffering?

So when my son landed in the hospital for a week, and my wife and I took turns to stay by his bedside while the doctors tried to figure out what was wrong with him, I prayed. I knew God was doing something great in our lives, but I did not know what it was.

Thankfully, we did end up finding out what was wrong with him, and we did end up taking measures to fix the problem.

Now that I have had the chance to think back on everything, I know for sure God was there every step of the way…

Which One Comes From You?

josephsdailywalkwithjesus

And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance;  and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation]. Romans 5:3-4 Holy Bible Amplified Version

When Jehovah assigns as difficult task for you to do are you obstinate, stomp your feet and say I refuse like a spoiled little brat? Even though He reasons with you with His Word, Christian Councilors and signs.

Or, if He directs you to stop doing something do you obstinacy refuse?

Beware.

Jehovah only does what is for your good. So, if you refuse to listen to Him, you will pay greatly in the long run.

I have seen many obstinate folks refuse to listen and slowly sink deeper and deeper into a living Hell.

“The difference between perseverance…

Strangers on a Plane

BeautyBeyondBones

There are really two types of people when it comes to airplanes: there are the talkers, and then those who would rather get a root canal than socialize with the person seated next to them.

Admittedly, I am the latter. Earbuds in, sunglasses on – I am a fortress. I am simultaneously praying for a) the plane not to go down, and b) my seat mate to not try to drum up small talk. Priorities, right?

giphy-8

But I love flying, I really do. Riding in an airplane is always a bit of an adventure. You never know who you’ll be sitting by, and for a couple hours, you’re completely out of control, and unplugged.

I was flying back to Ohio today from New York. And there are always a lot of emotions, seeing the intimidating city skyline of Manhattan slowly morph into the lush and fertile Ohio River valley…

Worship And Praise To My Creator

Pure Glory

by Hazel Straub

My eyes I lift to the Maker of heaven and earth
My focus on his forgiveness and goodness births
A new altitude and attitude with greater gratitude
There is no place for depression, moods or platitudes

I lift my eyes out of the mundane and routine
No greater love, mercy and grace ever seen
The horizon clouds of despair, gloom and doom
Disappear in the presence of our Bridegroom

My eyes behold his loving care and provision
His presence and nearness breaks fear’s prison
He never, not ever, forsakes or leaves me stranded
His angels protect and minister as he commanded

Lifting my eyes and behold his radiant beauty
His glory surrounds and clothes me like rubies
My uplifted vision has changed my position
As  I give him all my worship and recognition

Dear Kathy Griffin…

BeautyBeyondBones

Being a millennial New Yorker and actor, I’d like to think I’ve got pretty thick skin.

Getting rejected is par for the course in the entertainment industry. The city doesn’t do you any favors — just try battling the check out lines at Whole Foods at 3pm on a Sunday.  Heck, even the squirrels seems to have a certain undeniable hutzpah on these streets.

Really, nothing quite comes as a shock to me anymore, for better or for worse.

However.

Earlier this week, opening up my Buzzfeed app to find Kathy Griffin’s infamous photo of her, carrying the bloodied head of a decapitated President Donald Trump…I literally stopped in my tracks.

Just. No.

And I have a few words.

This is not okay. I don’t care how much you hate the President or his policies, that went. too far.

It’s no secret that Donald Trump is one of –…
