We do not have to mourn!

Dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. –Β πŸ“– 1 Thes.4:11-18 πŸ“–

The Thessalonians had thought that JESUS would be returning very soon. When some of the Christians started dying before JESUS had to come back, they were left with a huge problem. Paul explained to them that Christians who died were with JESUS immediately and that when HE returned, every believer would share in HIS return. All of us would one day be with GOD in Heaven. “So encourage each other with these words,” he says in verse 18.

The death of someone you love very much could bring your whole world to a standstill. It is very difficult, if at all possible, to come to terms with such a loss. The best most of us can do is to learn to live with the loss.

However, there is a huge difference in the way Christians and unbelievers experience the death of a loved one.

Christians do not have to mourn like those who have no hope. If you believe in GOD, you know for sure that you will eventually see the person who has died again, that he or she is now safe with GOD and therefore much better off than you yourself. Knowing this is particularly comforting if the one who has died was old, weak or ill.

Are you mourning because a loved one has died? GOD wants to console you with the assurance that your loved one is safe with HIM.

πŸ™πŸ» Heavenly FATHER, thank YOU for the consolation that believers who die are safe with YOU in Heaven. Thank YOU that YOU have conquered death and that I will also be with YOU one day … Amen.
