An infinitesimal fish and a fishy church

Having skipped a few weeks, I am making a tiny contribution to the WordPress Photo Challenge again.

My daughter needs a magnifying glass to survey this fish properly. In fact it is so tiny if you look at it from the side you won’t see it at all… Photos 1 and 2 were taken at the Montagu Saturday market a beautiful village in the Western Cape province of South Africa, once crowned as the most beautiful village in South Africa. A wide variety of eclectic items can be bought from equally eccentric vendors. The market happens to be dwarfed by a big white church but not the one in photo number 3.

The market will dwarf this one as it is a model of the church in Baardskeerdersbos (Beard shavers forest), which is a really tiny village also in the Western  Cape of South Africa and can only be reached by…

Die Israeliete was in ballingskap. Die tempel in Jerusalem was afgebreek. Baie jare het intussen verloop.

Toe kondig koning Kores van Persië aan dat God aan hom die opdrag gegee het om die fondse en ander middele te voorsien en ‘n klompie Israeliete uit spesifieke stamme terug te stuur Jerusalem toe sodat die tempel herbou kon word.

Daar was egter ook teenkanting hierteen en met ‘n slinkse plan word die bouwerk gestop vir ‘n lang tyd. Later, met koning Darius van Persië aan bewind, is die bouwerk voltooi.

Esra was baie toegewyd aan God en het dit wat in God’s Woord staan, uitgeleef.

Hy het gehoor dat daar van die bannelinge wat teruggekeer het, met heidense vroue getrou het en hul heidense praktyke aangeleer het. Ek glo werklik dat God nie ‘n probleem het met heidense vroue wat tot geloof gekom het nie, maar wel as hulle as gevolg van…
